Are you a seasoned finance professional ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment? We are looking for a Chartered Accountant – Finance Lead to oversee our entire finance and accounts function across multiple business operations and projects in Kampala.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can independently handle complex financial matters, statutory compliance, taxation, payroll, audit coordination, and team management.

What You'll Do

Accounting & Financial Management

• Oversee daily accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage supplier accounts, contractor settlements, and sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely compliance with all tax and statutory obligations.
• Handle tax notices, objections, assessments, and reconciliations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise management.

Audit & Regulatory Coordination

• Coordinate statutory audits and support external auditors.
• Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely closure of findings

Payroll & HR Finance

• Supervise payroll processing (including expatriate payroll)
• Monitor staff advances, loans, and employee-related financial records.
• Train, mentor, and supervise the finance team

Internal Controls & Risk Management

• Strengthen internal control systems and financial procedures.
• Identify operational and financial risks and recommend mitigation

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional Certification: ACCA, CPA, or CA (Mandatory)
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in accounting, taxation, compliance, and reporting
• Industry Preference: Experience in construction, infrastructure, real estate, or manufacturing (preferred)
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tally Prime or other ERP systems
• Software Proficiency: Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills
• Personal Attributes: High integrity, professionalism, and leadership abilities
