Job Description
Launched in July 2014, US-Bangla Airlines has rapidly grown to become the largest private airline in Bangladesh. Operating out of its primary hub at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The airline is seeking Type Rated Aircraft Maintenance Engineers - B2 (Avionics), Boeing 737-800. This position is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For the selected expat candidates, the company will provide shared accommodation, pick and drop to/from the office and all the supported related to work visa.
Purpose of the job:
To provide assurance that the company complies with international aviation engineering laws and reduces the risk to the company, in relation to all aspects of its aircraft maintenance operations on the Boeing 737-800 fleet. The Position ensures that the company protects itself from safety, technical, and operational risk through the implementation of global aviation engineering best practices and strict adherence to airworthiness standards.
Primary duties:
1. Aircraft Maintenance & Certification
- Carry out, supervise, and certify routine and non-routine avionics and electrical maintenance on the Boeing 737-800 fleet.
- Issue Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) within the scope of company approvals.
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks comply with international aviation regulations, CAAB standards, and the company’s Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
2. Technical risks assessments & compliances
- Identify technical risks/liabilities in all aircraft maintenance commitments and operational deployments.
- Comply with ICAO standards, EASA/FAA guidelines and relevant countries' aviation regulations.
- Develop risk reduction measures for recurring technical defects and line maintenance transactions.
3. Liaising with stakeholders/departments
- Coordinate technical obligations/rectifications/disputes with aircraft maintenance planning, supply chain, and flight operations.
- Manage obligations and defect reports with various internal stakeholders.
- Support technical troubleshooting and negotiations with OEMs/MROs globally.
4. Resolving defects & AOG handling
- Handle rapid response technical support resulting from AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations and complex system failures.
- Coordinating recovery, troubleshooting, and line station repairs (when needed).
- Ensuring timely and safe defect rectifications to avoid adverse financial and operational/flight schedule implications.
5. Developing procedures & safety safeguards
- Developing and implementing engineering frameworks/SOPs/maintenance governance policies.
- Implementing best practices for the aircraft maintenance life cycle and tool management.
- Maintaining a safe working environment in line with airline industry safety standards.
6. Periodic monitoring
- Effectively executing/mapping all avionics maintenance schedules and recurring AD/SB requirements.
- Providing periodic reports on technical performance and fleet reliability to the Director, Engineering.
- Recommending improvements based upon maintenance outcomes/safety risk exposures.
7. Aligning considerations for the Airline Industry best practice in all actions related to engineering
- All maintenance activities should adhere to standard aviation engineering structures and regulations.
- Adhering to strict regulatory provisions and compliance mandates.
- Robustly incorporating Safety Management System (SMS) protocols into daily tasks to reduce operational risks.
- Implementing strict maintenance audit/compliance tracking systems.
- Clearly defining task allocations and mentorship guidelines for junior technicians and mechanics.

2. Functional competencies (technical & role specific)
- Boeing 737-800 Avionics Expertise: Strong command over aircraft systems, avionics, and electrical maintenance practices specific to the Boeing 737-800 NG fleet. Ability to analyze complex system failures and ensure serviceability in multiple operational environments.
- Maintenance & Certification Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of issuing Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) and executing technical obligations. Ability to safely manage logbooks, documentation, and maintenance release clauses appropriately.
- Defect & AOG Management: Expertise in rapid troubleshooting frameworks and handling critical AOG situations. Ability to analyze system warnings, ensure sufficient rectifications, and efficiently manage recoveries.
- Regulatory Compliance Knowledge (global aviation standards): Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks/applicable standards/practices of international aviation organizations. Ability to ensure all maintenance complies with applicable international and local aviation laws, CAAB/EASA regulations, and commercial operations requirements.
Specification:
Qualifications/Education:
- Part 66 Course Complete / Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics) / Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent must be completed.
- Valid Part 66 EASA/CAAM/DGCA/CAAB B2 license with a current Type Rating endorsement for Boeing 737-600/700/800/900 (CFM56) is strictly required.
- Additional professional certifications/training in specialized avionics systems or aviation safety frameworks will be considered an asset.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with recency
- Must possess logbooks or a recency letter demonstrating recent certification privileges (e.g., at least 6 months of experience in the last 2 years).
- Experience in managing maintenance checks and providing technical supervision to line and base maintenance teams will be considered an advantage.
Skills/knowledge:
- Excellent language capacity in English.
- Working knowledge of modern MRO software systems, international aviation laws & safety models.
- Expert-Level skills in troubleshoot/analyse/repair/risk assessment regarding aircraft systems.
- Good knowledge about ICAO/IATA/global regulatory body frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder relations/building communication skills.
- Strong analytical/problem solving abilities.
- Confidentiality and safety-first mindset as a core behaviour/professional competency.
