Tech Lead - Applied ML & Engineering

Role Overview:

We are looking for a

Founding Tech Lead who can combine:

• applied machine learning,
• scoring / decision systems,
• backend and data platform architecture,
• production engineering discipline
• and strong execution ability.

This role is suited for someone who is deeply hands-on and comfortable building both technical systems and the foundations of an engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Scoring Systems & Applied ML

• Design and build core scoring / decision systems
• Develop deterministic logic and ML-assisted decision layers
• Translate operational and behavioural data into usable features and predictive signals
• Build robust model development, validation, calibration, and monitoring workflows
• Ensure outputs are explainable, versioned, and production-read

Data & Platform Architecture:

• Design end-to-end architecture for ingestion, processing, storage, and serving
• Build scalable pipelines for event and operational data
• Define backend architecture for internal services, APIs, and integration layers
• Establish data models, feature pipelines, and design patterns suitable for scale

Product & Engineering Execution:

• Work closely with founders to convert ideas into technical systems
• Own architecture and implementation from prototype to production
• Make practical decisions on stack, cloud infrastructure, observability, security, and deployment
• Balance speed, quality, explainability, and reliability in system design

Technical Leadership:

• Set engineering standards and technical direction
• Hire and mentor junior engineers, freshers, and future specialists
• Act as the early technical owner of the platform
• Help shape the company’s long-term technical moat

Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in software engineering, applied ML, data systems, or related technical roles
• Strong hands-on experience in

Python, Casharp, .Net, Microservice

• Strong understanding of

backend systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and production engineering

• Experience building

production ML systems

, not just notebooks or offline models

• Strong command over

data pipelines, feature engineering, model deployment, and experimentation workflows

• Experience designing systems from zero to production
• Ability to work across both

model logic and

engineering infrastructure

• Strong problem-solving ability and ownership mindset
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage startup environment

Strongly Preferred

Experience in one or more of the following domains:

• telematics
• connected vehicles
• mobility data systems
• fleet technology
• IoT / event-driven systems
