Where Should Each Resume Section Go?

Get the right section order plus specific decisions on relevant coursework and certifications.

The order of your resume sections quietly shapes how a recruiter reads it. A current student leads with Education + relevant coursework; a senior engineer drops Education to the bottom. This tool returns the right order for your career stage, plus specific verdicts on whether relevant coursework and certifications belong - and where.

FAQ

Common questions

Should I include relevant coursework?

If you're a current student or recent grad, yes - list 4-6 courses that map to the target role under Education. After 3+ years of work, drop it.

Where do certifications go?

If the role explicitly requires the cert (AWS, PMP, CPA), put it ABOVE Skills so it's the first thing a recruiter sees. Otherwise after Skills.

Should Education be near the top or bottom?

Near the top while you're a student or recent grad - it's your strongest credential. After 1-3 years of work it drops below Experience.
