Principal Industrial Engineer

Our client, a major industrial conglomerate in Surat, Gujarat, IN , is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Industrial Engineer to lead complex process improvement initiatives. This senior role is critical for optimizing operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across various manufacturing and operational units. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, simulation modeling, and data analysis. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, designing and implementing solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. A proven ability to lead large-scale projects and drive significant operational gains is essential.

Key Responsibilities include:

Leading the design, development, and implementation of optimized production and operational systems. Applying industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing techniques, and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement. Conducting in-depth analysis of existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for cost reduction. Developing and utilizing simulation models to test and validate process improvements before implementation. Designing factory layouts, workflow processes, and material handling systems to enhance efficiency and safety. Establishing performance metrics and KPIs to monitor operational effectiveness and track progress. Leading cross-functional teams on improvement projects, providing technical guidance and project management. Developing business cases for proposed improvements, including ROI analysis. Mentoring and coaching junior industrial engineers and technical staff. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in industrial engineering technologies and best practices. Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. Communicating project findings and recommendations to senior management. Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process improvement and operational optimization. Extensive experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and statistical analysis tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Experience in managing large-scale improvement projects and cross-functional teams. Knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and clear recommendations. Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
