Versant Diagnostics is a rapidly growing physician services company focused on Digital Anatomic Pathology and is leading the revolution to improve the precision, accuracy, and speed of diagnosis.
We are seeking a Associate Sales Representative to be responsible for driving revenue growth from existing accounts as well as new accounts within an assigned geographic territory by promoting and selling the organization’s anatomic pathology services. This is an entry level role focusing on identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and strengthening relationships with healthcare providers to support consistent test utilization and market expansion.
The ideal candidate will be an organized, self-motivated professional who enjoys interacting with people. Must demonstrate strong communication skills, good attention to detail and a genuine concern for people. This is an opportunity to grow a territory and develop long term relationships with both physicians and their clinics.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
· Develops and executes a strategic sales plan aligned with organizational goals.
· Manages a defined territory, including scheduling sales calls, planning travel, and prioritizing high‑value opportunities.
· Maintains accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and territory performance.
· Manages existing referral sources to build relationships and secure account retention and growth.
· Identifies, qualifies, and secures new business from physicians, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations.
· Conducts sales presentations and product education sessions for clinical staff and decision‑makers.
· Communicates the clinical value, workflow integration, and differentiators of diagnostic test offerings.
· Builds and maintains strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
· Monitors account performance and implements strategies to increase test volume and service utilization.
· Serves as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, service issues, and escalations.
· Gathers and analyzes market data to identify trends, competitive activity, and unmet customer needs.
· Provides feedback to internal teams regarding product performance, customer insights, and potential service enhancements.
· Supports other sales and marketing team members, marketing initiatives, product launches, and territory‑specific campaigns.
· Coordinates with sales management, marketing management, laboratory operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
· Works with clinical education teams to support training and technical discussions with clients.
· Participates in conferences, trade shows, and professional events as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
· Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing demands.
· Proficiency with IT systems and standard business software.
· Valid driver’s license with access to personal transportation and the ability to travel within the assigned territory.
· Complies with laws, regulations and company policies and procedures applicable to this role.
· Perform other duties as required or assigned.
