Agricultural Production Associate

Blackbird Farms is seeking full-time associates to assist with farm, food processing, and food distribution work at our workshop in Colonial Beach, VA and our farms in Montross, VA

About the Job/Requirements:

Pay and Hours: $20/hr, 40 hours/week, Salaried W2 position, Full Time

Assist with:

Poultry processing, fine butchery, and meat packing

Load out and delivery of inventory from our workshop to our customer fulfillment centers

Daily care of poultry

General farm stewardship and improvements

Able to follow Standard Operating Procedures for assigned tasks while remaining flexible to the day-to-day needs of the business

Able to work in a group setting as well as unsupervised

Job requirements:

A clean driving record

Comfortable working in both hot and cold indoor and outdoor environments

Comfortable being trained on and operating heavy machinery in an occasionally noisy environment

Experience or aptitude working with power tools, basic carpentry, and/or pressurized water systems

Able to lift at least 50+lbs from the floor

Able to stand on your feet for entire shift

Able to work directly and in an environment with raw meat, live poultry, sight of blood, viscera, and animal waste, etc.

We have a substantial social media presence, so you’ll need to be comfortable being filmed performing your job duties

Punctuality is *extremely* important

Periodic Sunday PM work
