Role and Responsibilities

Monitor and administer enterprise LAN/WAN, data center, and wireless environments (Nexus, Catalyst, ASA/Firepower, SD WAN).
Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve L1–L3 network incidents and performance issues; escalate to vendors as needed.
Manage IP addressing, VLANs, trunking, EtherChannel/Port Channel, VPC, and routing adjacencies (OSPF/BGP/EIGRP).
Maintain and optimize Cisco Nexus switching (e.g., 5K/7K/9K), including VPC, HSRP/VRRP, fabric modules, and FEX.
Support firewall rule changes, NAT, site to site and remote access VPNs; collaborate with security on policy enforcement.
Ensure network monitoring, alerting, and logging are operational (e.g., SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, NetFlow).
Provide on call support within a rotation and support scheduled after hours changes.
Plan and execute network changes (migrations, upgrades, code/firmware updates, new site turn ups).
Implement redundancy and high availability: VPC/MLAG, routing protocol tuning, first hop redundancy, SD WAN HA.
Contribute to network segmentation and Zero Trust initiatives (ACLs, VRFs, micro segmentation).
Participate in cloud connectivity projects (ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, Cloud NAT, VPN to AWS/Azure/GCP).
Automate routine tasks using Ansible/Python, templating, and configuration standards where appropriate.
Maintain platform documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and architectural diagrams.

Must Have

Platforms: Cisco Nexus (5K/7K/9K), Catalyst (9K/3K), ASA/FTD, Wireless controllers (optional).
Tools: CLI (IOS/NX OS), SSH, SNMPv3, NetFlow/sFlow, Syslog, Wireshark, SolarWinds/LogicMonitor/PRTG.
Security: ACLs, device hardening, VPNs (IPsec/AnyConnect), identity/AAA (TACACS+/RADIUS).
OS & Infra: Solid understanding of DNS/DHCP/NTP/IPAM; basic Linux/Windows networking.
Documentation: Visio/draw.io; strong written/runbook skills.
Data Center & Fabric: VXLAN/EVPN, ACI concepts (tenants, contracts, EPGs), spine leaf design.
SD WAN: Cisco Viptela or Meraki SD WAN.
Firewalls & NAC: Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet; Cisco ISE/802.1X.
Cloud & Hybrid: Azure/AWS/GCP networking, load balancers (F5, AVI/NSX ALB), Private Link/ExpressRoute.
Automation & Scripting: Ansible, Python, Git, CI/CD for network changes, Infrastructure as Code basics.
Telecom: MPLS, DIA, circuits management, carrier coordination.
SRE Practices: SLO/SLI for network services, synthetic monitoring, telemetry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
Strong documentation and diagramming skills (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io).

Minimum BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure/network architecture, implementation, troubleshooting, and support.

· Certifications: CCNA (required or equivalent experience), CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Data Center (strong plus), ITIL Foundation (plus).
