Student Resume Optimizer

Paste your current resume + target role; get specific improvement suggestions with rewritten bullet examples. Grounded — uses only what's already on your resume.

Your resume is what stands between you and the first interview at a company that doesn't know you yet. This optimizer takes the resume you already have plus the role you're targeting and returns 3-5 specific suggestions, each with rewritten bullet examples drawn from the content you provided. It won't invent experience or metrics you didn't include.

How it works

A few steps, no signup

  1. Step 1

Paste your full resume text (at least 200 characters)

  2. Step 2

Enter target role and college stage

  3. Step 3

Get specific suggestions with rewritten bullets

When to use

The right moment

  • After drafting your first internship-application resume
  • Switching target roles and the resume no longer fits
  • Diagnosing why a resume isn't getting interviews

Examples

What you'll get

Junior, internship target

Input: Resume: class projects + customer service job; Target: data analyst internship; Stage: junior

Output: 3-5 suggestions, e.g. 'Rewrite class project bullets to quantify impact; add Tools section.'

Senior, full-time target

Input: Resume: internship + capstone + clubs; Target: associate product manager; Stage: senior

Output: 3-5 suggestions, e.g. 'Reframe internship bullets around ownership and outcomes.'

What this tool isn't

Honest limitations

  • Suggestions are grounded in what you pasted. If your resume omits a metric, we won't invent one — fill the metric in yourself, then re-run.
  • Best for college students and recent grads. Mid-career resumes get less value from this — use /tools/resume-strength-checker instead.

FAQ

Common questions

Will it add fake metrics to my bullets?

No. The optimizer uses only what's in your pasted resume. If you didn't include a number, the rewrite won't include one either.

How many suggestions will I get?

Between 3 and 5, depending on how many distinct improvement areas your resume has.

Is my pasted resume stored anywhere?

No. The text is sent to the model for the generation and is not persisted server-side.
