We are currently looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-time Permanent position within the Association can be housed at any of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s locations in the Northeast Region (Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins and surrounding areas). Hybrid work options may be available depending on location.
Under the leadership of the Manager of Brand and Communications, the Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for coordinating the marketing and communication of the programs and services offered by the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario in accordance with the YMCA policies, procedures, and standards.
START DATE: As soon as possible
LOCATION: Northeastern Ontario
RATE OF PAY: $50,000 - $56,000 per year
HOURS: 40 per week
What You'll Do
Ensure all branding and communications are consistent with the goals and objectives of the YMCA
Execute the implementation of the Association marketing and promotion plan in coordination with Marketing & Communications Team
Order all event collateral, swag and brand signage for Association promotions as required
Craft proposals and presentations for corporate sponsors and partners
Update event collateral and website with appropriate sponsor/partner logos
Implement a Community Ambassador Training Program to train staff in their roles and responsibilities at community events
Maintain a Community Events Calendar while coordinating team participation at high impact events
Facilitate social media posts to support philanthropy efforts, including event promotion and sponsor/partner recognition
Lead website updates and coordination of information
Support donor stewardship communications strategy
Support philanthropy in a leadership capacity through committee and attending events
Support Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth and Innovation with government relations-related tasks, including coordinating meetings, monitoring policy and funding developments, and managing follow-up to ensure effective engagement with government partners
Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization
What You'll Bring
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Marketing & Communications, Public Relations, or related field *for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES with their application
Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in marketing & communications or related field
Experience working or volunteering within the charitable sector is considered an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
Strong presentation/facilitation skills
Advanced computer skills
Solid knowledge of legislation that impacts communication and promotional materials such as AODA
Strong knowledge of graphic design and design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
Valid G Drivers’ License with access to reliable vehicle
Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
