In this role, you will be the technical architect behind the embedded DFM AI + IQE track, moving beyond simple plug-ins to integrate Xometry’s proprietary AI directly into the Siemens ecosystem. You will lead the extraction and embedding of our core AI engines—focused on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Instant Quoting (IQE)—into Siemens Designcenter and Teamcenter. Your work will enable engineers to receive real-time manufacturability feedback and pricing the moment a design decision is made, operating directly on native 3D geometry to deliver a "science fiction speed" digital thread from ideation to delivery. This role requires a hybrid schedule (3 days a week) at our North Bethesda, MD or Waltham, MA office location. <h3>How You'll Contribute</h3> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Technical Leadership & Siemens Integration: Lead the design and delivery of production ML solutions that embed Xometry’s AI into Siemens Designcenter workflows. You will shift our technology from vertically integrated services to SaaS solutions that can be integrated into multiple services, enabling real-time feedback loops within Siemens Designcenter.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Cross-Functional Strategy: Partner with Siemens technical leads and Xometry engineering, product, and business leadership to align science priorities. You will influence how we handle native 3D geometry vs. mesh-based formats to provide materially richer AI insights.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Roadmap Ownership: Define and own the 12-month science roadmap for the Siemens partnership. You will bridge the gap between Phase 1 (DFM & Pricing integration) and Phase 2 (Full Part Lifecycle & Marketplace integration).</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Risk Management & Execution: Anticipate technical hurdles in ring-fenced data environments and enterprise-grade deployments. You will ensure that Xometry-AI delivers "one-click" order placement and execution insights within the Siemens Teamcenter experience.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Mentorship and Standards: Provide technical guidance to scientists, driving the adoption of shared frameworks and reusable tooling that allow Xometry’s AI to scale across multiple enterprise-grade partners.</li> </ul> <h3>What You'll Bring to Xometry</h3> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Experience: A minimum of 8 years in data science/ML with a Bachelor's; 5-6+ years with a Master's; or a PhD with 3-4+ years of applied experience.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL. Deep expertise in Geometric Deep Learning, Computer Vision (3D mesh/B-Rep processing), or Generative AI is highly preferred given the focus on native 3D geometry.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Strategic Delivery: Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery for high-value external partnerships, influencing stakeholders without direct authority.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Product Vision: A track record of executing long-term science roadmaps that translate complex manufacturing physics into real-time pricing and DFM outcomes.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Communication: Ability to translate complex technical trade-offs regarding data governance and model performance for both Siemens executives and internal stakeholders.</li> </ul> <h3>You Would Be A Great Fit With</h3> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Domain Expertise: Experience in CAD/PLM software, computational geometry, or industrial manufacturing.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">AI Scale: Experience shipping production-grade ML models that handle massive, multi-modal datasets (e.g., millions of proprietary part files and production outcomes).</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Enterprise Architecture: Experience shaping ML infrastructure for "ring-fenced" or dedicated tenant environments where data security is paramount.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Marketplace Logic: Background in dynamic pricing, supply chain optimization, or high-volume marketplace modeling.</li> </ul> <h3>The Siemens Advantage: Why This Role is Different</h3> Unlike our existing plug-ins for Dassault, Autodesk, or PTC—which function as lightweight UI overlays—this partnership represents a fundamental shift.
