Our client, a distinguished engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their forward-thinking team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US . This role is critical for the design, planning, and oversight of vital public and private infrastructure projects, including transportation networks, water systems, and site development. You will leverage your extensive technical expertise to lead project teams, ensure compliance with engineering standards, and deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending the benefits of remote work flexibility with essential on-site collaboration and client interaction. Your contributions will be fundamental to shaping the urban landscape and improving community infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, water distribution, and wastewater collection. Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents. Perform complex hydraulic modeling, traffic analysis, and site grading design. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and engineering standards (e.g., AASHTO, DOT standards). Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely and cost-efficient project delivery. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior civil engineers and design staff. Review and approve engineering designs prepared by team members. Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and methodologies in civil engineering. Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations. Oversee construction administration activities, including site inspections and progress monitoring. Develop and implement quality control procedures for engineering designs and deliverables. Champion sustainable design practices and incorporate green infrastructure solutions where applicable.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota or the ability to obtain one is required. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management. Proven expertise in transportation engineering, water resources engineering, or site development. Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, and GIS. Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, surveying, and construction methods. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams. Experience in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote tasks with on-site responsibilities. Commitment to engineering excellence, client satisfaction, and public safety. Familiarity with public sector projects and bidding processes is a plus.
