Position Title: Curriculum Designer & Academic Resource Developer
Nature of Position: Non-contact, Project-based (Remote/Hybrid)
Role Summary
The Curriculum Designer & Academic Resource Developer will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality curriculum frameworks, textbooks, and academic resources for KG2 to Grade 5. The role focuses on curriculum innovation, lesson planning, and creative resource development aligned with the IB PYP framework and the school’s vision of inquiry-driven, skills-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Development
- Develop PYP-aligned scope and sequence based on the learner profile for English, Mathematics, and Units of Inquiry (KG2–G3).
- Ensure alignment with inquiry-based and transdisciplinary learning approaches.
2. Lesson Planning
- Design detailed lesson plans incorporating:
- Approaches to Learning (ATLs)
- Skills integration
- Baldrige tools
- Visible Thinking Routines (VTRs)
3. Resource & Content Development
- Create engaging workbooks, activity banks, and learning materials focusing on literacy, numeracy, and skill development.
- Design and develop textbooks, teacher manuals, and digital learning resources.
4. Assessment & Learning Tools
- Develop assessment rubrics, observation tools, reflection journals, and evaluation frameworks aligned with PYP outcomes.
- Create test papers and assessment materials aligned with NGRT standards.
5. Resource Mapping & Differentiation
- Map curated resources for KG to Grade 3 based on learning levels and differentiation strategies.
6. Innovation & Pedagogy Integration
- Integrate inquiry cycles, PYP learning skills, and visible thinking frameworks into classroom-ready materials.
- Ensure content promotes critical thinking and student engagement.
7. Teacher Support
- Develop guidance documents, implementation notes, and support materials for teachers.
8. Reading Programme Support
- Design reading comprehension materials, quizzes, and reading journals for Grades 1–5.
9. Enrichment Support
- Source and develop resources for enrichment sessions and extended learning programs.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of primary pedagogy (English, Mathematics, UOI).
- Expertise in curriculum design and instructional planning.
- Proficiency in design tools (InDesign, Illustrator, Canva).
- Familiarity with IB PYP framework, inquiry cycles, and ATL skills.
- Strong editorial, planning, and content structuring skills.
- Ability to create child-friendly, visually engaging, and academically rigorous content.
Contract Nature
- Project-based, non-contact role focused on curriculum and resource development.
- Annual deliverables with defined timelines and quality benchmarks.
- Performance evaluated based on:
- Academic rigor
- Design quality
- Alignment with IB PYP standards
