Job Description
Lesson Review, Development & EdTech Testing
Hybrid / Remote | Full-Time | Reports to: Head of Curriculum / Academic Director
We are an international EdTech company at the forefront of emerging technologies in education, designing learning experiences that prepare students for a world that does not yet exist. Trusted by and working in direct collaboration with the Department of Education, we operate at the intersection of curriculum, innovation, and real-world impact — reaching learners across borders and backgrounds.
Are you a classroom teacher ready to extend your impact beyond the classroom?
We are looking for experienced ICT educators — currently teaching or recently in schools — who are passionate about shaping what the next generation learns, not just how they learn it. If you are ready to step into curriculum design and help build future-ready skills for the 21st-century learner, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced ICT teacher with a strong curriculum development background to join our team as an ICT Curriculum Specialist. This role sits at the intersection of teaching practice, instructional design, and technology, and is responsible for ensuring that every ICT lesson we produce from foundational computing through to advanced emerging-technology topics is accurate, pedagogically sound, technically functional, and built using the right tools.
The ideal candidate has classroom teaching experience in ICT/Computer Science, understands how lessons are designed and built (not just taught), and is comfortable working hands-on across a wide range of technical subjects and design software.
Core Responsibilities (Primary / BAU)
- Review, audit, and continuously improve the ICT curriculum across all levels, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with learning outcomes.
- Test and quality-check lessons end-to-end, covering basic ICT/digital literacy, Python and programming fundamentals, web development, AI & machine learning, cybersecurity, and other emerging technology topics.
- Evaluate lesson content for technical correctness, clarity, sequencing, and age/level appropriateness before publication.
- Work hands-on with the tools used to build lessons (authoring platforms, code editors/IDEs, simulation tools, LMS systems) to identify gaps, errors, or usability issues.
- Design and structure new curriculum content and lesson plans for emerging technology topics as needed.
- Use Canva and other design tools to create or refine visual learning materials, slides, infographics, and lesson assets.
- Maintain a structured feedback loop with content developers to flag issues and recommend improvements.
- Keep curriculum content up to date with evolving trends in technology education (AI, cybersecurity, web development, etc.).
Secondary Responsibilities (Non-Core / As Needed)
- Liaise with classroom teachers to understand delivery challenges and gather feedback on lesson effectiveness.
- Conduct periodic training sessions for teachers on emerging technologies and new tools relevant to ICT instruction.
- Support onboarding of new teaching staff on curriculum tools and standards.
Note: Teacher liaison and training is a supporting function of this role, not the primary daily focus, which remains curriculum review, development, and lesson testing.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven teaching experience in ICT/Computer Science at a school (any level — primary, secondary, or further education).
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of:
- Basic ICT / digital literacy concepts
- Python and programming fundamentals
- Website/web development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar)
- AI & Machine Learning concepts and tools
- Cybersecurity fundamentals
- Other emerging technology areas (e.g., IoT, cloud computing, data science)
- Experience with curriculum design and instructional development — understanding how lessons are structured, sequenced, and assessed.
- Familiarity with tools used to build digital lessons (authoring tools, LMS platforms, code editors, presentation software).
- Proficiency with Canva and other design tools (e.g., Adobe Express, Figma, PowerPoint design add-ins) for creating visual learning content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for documenting feedback and liaising with teaching staff.
- Self-directed and comfortable working in a hybrid/remote setup with minimal supervision.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Teaching certification/qualification (e.g. B.Ed, or equivalent).
- Prior experience in instructional design, e-learning content development, or curriculum quality assurance.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Scratch, Replit, GitHub, or similar educational/dev tools.
- Experience training or mentoring other educators.
Work Arrangement Details
- This is a hybrid/remote role — the candidate may work remotely most of the time, with occasional in-person sessions (e.g., for teacher training, school visits, or team meetings) as required.
- Standard working hours with flexibility based on project deadlines and curriculum review cycles.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- A consistently high-quality, technically accurate, and engaging ICT curriculum across all subject areas.
- Lessons that are fully tested and “classroom-ready” before rollout.
- Teachers who feel supported and up to date on emerging technologies through periodic training.
- A well-documented, repeatable lesson review and quality-assurance process.
