Job Description
As a Trade Sales Manager for West and Central India at Springer Nature, your role involves managing print books and B2C sales through distribution accounts, library suppliers, and booksellers. You will need to think strategically about print books performance, work on initiatives to increase efficiency, and grow sales. Additionally, you will be responsible for assuming e-book responsibility where budget exists in Tier 2 and 3 Institutions. Collaborating closely with the South Asia Sales Team and other relevant Springer Nature departments is key to your success in this role.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Achieve and surpass budget expectations for the respective region
- Develop and implement a sales strategy for the region in collaboration with the Sales Director
- Manage existing accounts and develop new business opportunities for print and eBooks
- Identify new channel partners for unique business areas and understand their needs
- Provide tailored sales and marketing information to channel partners
- Create annual business plans with key trade partners and support them to generate business from trade and Institutions
- Visit Institutions and libraries in consultation with Trade Partners
- Attend trade shows, meetings, and publishing conferences as required
- Identify Institutes and Universities of Importance in the respective region
- Create a database for Librarians and Head of Departments for the entire region
- Deliver monthly sales reports and forecasts to the Sales Director
- Share regional market information and trends with Trade Sales team colleagues
- *Qualifications Required:**
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, preferably from the publishing industry
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree
- Good sales negotiation skills
- Must be well organized, collaborative, and self-motivated
- Ability to work with deadlines
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel as required
