OpenText System Administrator Level 2 (Part-time)
Location:
Hybrid except once a month on-site in Saint-Hubert, Quebec
Background:
As per the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) Policy on Service and Digital, the Deputy Head is responsible for ensuring that methodologies, mechanisms and tools are implemented to support information and data life cycle management. The Directive on Service and Digital also aims to ensure digital systems are the preferred means of creating, capturing and managing information and to ensure that an approved Government of Canada enterprise information management solution is used to document business activities, decisions and decision-making processes. Accordingly, the Agency introduced Content Server—also known as GCDocs or Livelink —as its preferred tool for managing electronic documents and records in 2004. Content Server, an OpenText product, has been fully implemented, and the Agency is currently ensuring its maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
The resource acts as a reference person for Opentext Core. Responds to all types of requests (technical or operational), and works with IM Coordinators and IT specialists.
The resource role includes, but not limited to:
a) Answers questions from IM and IT teams
b) Analyzes incidents and problems
c) If necessary, opens tickets in OpenText, ensures follow-up and problem resolution
d) Documents incidents and problems e) Communicates with IM and IT teams
The resource will maintain the Content Server test environment.
The resource will support the implementation of production solutions. Working with the IT division, the resource must ensure an OpenText Core test environment optimal and must proceed with all required upgrades.
The resource must:
a) be familiar with the various patches and releases
b) Identify the relevance of installing various items
c) Test the latest updates
d) Prepare patch installation and release change procedures
e) Update all documentation
f) Conduct functional and technical tests on the various modules
The resources help develop business solutions including:
a) LiveReports, WebReports (SQL, HTML, etc.)
b) Workflow
c) Disposal process enhancement (archiving and destruction in respect of documents life cycle)
d) Digitization process (OTCapture)
e) Cross-platform connectivity (xECM, Microsoft M365/SharePoint/OneDrive, CSA in-house applications)
f) Smart UI creation, maintenance and configuration
g) AI integrated capacity (Aviator)
h) Open-information extraction
i) Reverse engineering for the open-data inventory
The resource must provide knowledge transfer to internal employees
a) The Contractor’s resource will be required, upon request, to make presentations, documentation and training to a range of different audiences on various system components, modules or functionalities.
b) The Contractor’s resource must ensure knowledge transfer relating to new items, functionalities or behaviours specific to requirements.
c) The Contractor’s resource will be required, upon request, to provide knowledge transfer to IT staff on administration of Opentext Core and associated modules.
What you must bring to this role:
- Must currently hold a valid Reliability-level clearance with the federal government of Canada through PSPC.
- Must be fluently bilingual in English and French
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years cumulative experience in IT in one or more of the following fields: software development, network or system administrator, or IT technician
- Must have a minimum of five (5) cumulative years of experience in the following areas: the architecture and administration of Opentext Core/GCDOCS/Content Server, and their respective modules, within a multiserver environment
- Must have a minimum of five (5) cumulative years of experience in LiveReports and WebReports requests
