Telecommunications Field Technician

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecommunications Field Technician to join their operations in Thane, Maharashtra . This hands-on role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, including fiber optics, copper lines, and wireless systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting network issues, possess excellent technical skills, and be committed to providing high-quality service to customers. You will be an essential part of ensuring reliable connectivity for our client's subscribers.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, activate, and maintain telecommunications services, including internet, voice, and video, for residential and business customers. Perform installations and repairs of fiber optic cables, copper wiring, and associated network hardware. Troubleshoot and diagnose service issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Test installed equipment and network connectivity to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and service orders. Operate specialized tools and equipment, such as OTDRs, cable testers, and signal meters. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer service requirements. Respond to service calls and emergency dispatches in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service details and equipment used. Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of services and addressing any concerns. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve complex technical issues. Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical certification in telecommunications or a related field is a plus. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a field technician in the telecommunications industry. Proven experience with fiber optic installation and splicing, copper cabling, and network equipment. Proficiency in troubleshooting common telecommunications network issues. Familiarity with various testing equipment and diagnostic tools. Strong understanding of network infrastructure and cabling standards. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed. Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
