Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Operations Engineer to join their team in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, IN . This critical role involves overseeing and optimizing the operational efficiency and safety of our mining sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geological engineering, mining methods, equipment management, and production planning. You will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Key responsibilities include analyzing production data, identifying areas for improvement in extraction and processing, and implementing new technologies or methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs. You will lead a team of engineers and operational staff, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of safety and excellence. Experience with open-pit or underground mining operations, depending on the specific site needs, is essential. Collaboration with exploration teams, maintenance departments, and regulatory bodies will be a significant part of your role. This position demands strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to sustainable and responsible mining practices. A deep understanding of mine planning software and simulation tools is also highly valued. Responsibilities: Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets. Oversee daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling. Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Manage budgets and control costs for mining operations. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Lead and mentor a team of mining engineers and operational staff. Evaluate and recommend new mining technologies and equipment. Collaborate with geology and engineering teams on mine design and planning. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments. Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers. Develop and implement emergency response plans. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining operations, with a significant portion in a senior engineering or management role. Proven experience with open-pit or underground mining operations. Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and processing techniques. Expertise in mine planning, production management, and cost control. Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Vulcan, Deswik) and simulation tools. Ability to work effectively in a remote and challenging operational environment.
