Senior Broadcast Journalist - Investigative Unit

Our client, a leading television network, is seeking a seasoned Senior Broadcast Journalist to join their esteemed Investigative Unit in Mumbai, Maharashtra, IN . This role is for a tenacious and skilled reporter with a passion for uncovering important stories and holding power accountable. You will be responsible for conceiving, researching, and producing in-depth investigative reports for broadcast television. The ideal candidate will have a strong journalistic background, excellent storytelling abilities, meticulous research skills, and a commitment to ethical reporting. You will work closely with a team of producers, videographers, and editors to bring compelling stories to air.

Key Responsibilities: Identify, pitch, and develop compelling investigative story ideas. Conduct thorough research using a variety of sources, including public records, interviews, and data analysis. Build and maintain a strong network of sources across various sectors. Conduct interviews with key individuals, including public officials, business leaders, and private citizens. Write clear, concise, and engaging scripts for broadcast, adhering to journalistic standards. Collaborate with camera crews and editors to shoot and produce high-quality investigative segments. Ensure all reporting is accurate, fair, balanced, and ethically sound. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Contribute to the overall content strategy of the investigative unit. Stay abreast of current events and industry trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in broadcast journalism, with a significant portion focused on investigative reporting. Demonstrated success in producing impactful investigative news stories. Exceptional interviewing, writing, and storytelling skills. Proficiency in research techniques and data analysis. Strong understanding of media law and ethics. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Experience with video editing software and broadcast production workflows is a plus. Excellent networking and source-building abilities. A portfolio of published or broadcast investigative work is required.
