Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and fiber optic infrastructure. Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot technical issues to resolve network and service disruptions efficiently. Respond to service calls and site visits to address customer-reported problems and perform preventative maintenance. Ensure all installations and repairs meet company standards and industry best practices. Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and installations, accurately in the system. Manage and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures while working on-site. Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding their telecommunications services. Collaborate with internal support teams to resolve complex technical challenges. Stay updated on the latest telecommunications technologies, products, and services. Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and potential issues. Assist in the deployment and upgrade of network infrastructure. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with clients. Optimize network performance and ensure high availability of services. Participate in on-call rotations to provide emergency support as needed.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical support role within the telecom industry. Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet), and wireless technologies. Hands-on experience with installing and troubleshooting various types of telecommunications hardware. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and measurement devices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel to various locations. Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift moderate weights. Knowledge of fiber optics, mobile networks (4G/5G), or broadband technologies is a plus. Certification in relevant networking technologies (e.g., CCNA) is advantageous. A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
