Community & Government Relations Manager

Role Overview

This position calls for a seasoned Community Affairs Manager to oversee stakeholder outreach, landowner engagement, community development, and social performance work that supports mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain productive working relationships with landowners, local communities, government bodies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Direct community engagement activities, consultation forums, and grievance handling procedures.
• Assist with land access discussions and help resolve issues affecting communities.
• Plan and coordinate community development programs, such as education support, livelihood initiatives, and local business development.
• Spot community-related risks early and implement measures to reduce the chance of operational disruption.
• Contribute to government liaison efforts and help ensure delivery against community commitments.
• Supervise Community Affairs staff and prepare regular updates for management.

Requirements

• Background in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or social performance, preferably within mining, infrastructure, or a similar environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams effectively and handle negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution with confidence.
• Comfort working with complex stakeholder groups in remote settings and culturally varied environments.

Work location: Central Province, Papua New Guinea.

Eligible nationalities: Papua New Guinea and Australia.
