AWS Infrastructure Engineer (L3 / Escalation)
Location: Scarborough, ON (Hybrid)

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Infrastructure Engineer (L3 / Escalation) to support, maintain, and optimize enterprise-scale AWS production environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AWS infrastructure management, deployment automation, incident resolution, and advanced troubleshooting. This role will serve as the highest level of operational support, acting as an escalation point for L1 and L2 teams while ensuring platform stability, performance, and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support AWS cloud infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
- Administer and maintain AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, ELB/ALB, Route 53, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, and related services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, security, and performance-related issues.
- Act as the L3 escalation engineer for critical incidents and production outages.
- Collaborate with L1/L2 support teams to investigate issues and drive timely resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Monitor infrastructure health, availability, capacity, and performance.
- Support infrastructure deployments, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Participate in on-call support and incident management processes as required.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with application, network, and security teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 4+ years focused on AWS.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:
- EC2
- VPC
- IAM
- Load Balancers (ALB/NLB)
- S3
- EBS
- CloudWatch
- Route 53
- Experience deploying, operating, and supporting mission-critical AWS production environments.
- Proven experience handling complex infrastructure incidents and L3 escalations.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, security groups, NACLs, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
- Experience working in 24x7 operational support environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
- AWS Certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
