Location:Washington, DC or Boston, MA area.
Compensation: $235,000 to $435,000 base plus full benefits
This Is Not a Training Role. This Is a Platform.
We are a leading intellectual property firm and quietly expanding our Chemical Practice Group and seeking a senior minded Chemical Patent Attorney who wants more control, more influence, and more visibility.
If you are currently successful but constrained by structure, workload ownership, or client exposure, this opportunity recalibrates the ceiling. This role is built for attorneys who already know how to run matters and are ready to be seen doing it.
The Opportunity:
- You will step into a practice where you are trusted to lead.

- You will manage and shape patent strategy for large portfolios while supervising and mentoring technical specialists and junior attorneys.
- This is a hands on leadership role with real authority and direct client contact.
What You Will Own
- Day to day management of chemical and life sciences patent prosecution
- Supervision and training of technical specialists and junior attorneys Leadership of due diligence and freedom to operate analyses
- Direct counseling on IP strategy, risk, and portfolio development Lead client meetings and serve as a primary point of contact for key relationships Coordination of global patent strategy across jurisdictions
Who This Is For
This role is designed for a patent attorney who is already performing at a high level and wants a broader footprint and stronger seat at the table. The right background includes:
- Three or more years of patent prosecution experience
- Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring others Comfort handling large, complex, global patent portfolios
- Strong technical foundation in organic chemistry or small molecules
- Advanced degree strongly preferred Admission to the USPTO Licensed in a U.S. jurisdiction where the firm maintains an office
