Job Description

Backed by an experienced leadership team with deep expertise spanning renewables, utilities, and real estate, the business is focused on delivering cost-effective clean energy solutions to local communities. With an agile, policy-driven approach, they are building a strong pipeline and positioning themselves as a key player within the distributed generation market.
- Position: Project Developer - MD & PA
- Location: Washington DC - hybrid working available
- Travel: Some regional travel required
Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to take ownership of project development across key growth markets, leading projects from origination through to execution. You will play a central role in building a high-quality pipeline, working closely with senior leadership to drive delivery and optimise project value. The position suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is motivated to have a visible impact on business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate, assess, and secure new project opportunities (greenfield and M&A)
- Lead development activities including interconnection, permitting, and offtake
- Optimise project design and economics to maximise portfolio value
- Develop and manage project budgets in collaboration with leadership
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, utilities, and local stakeholders
- Engage external consultants to support project delivery and pipeline growth
- Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the development lifecycle
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant Master’s degree advantageous
- 3–6 years’ experience in clean energy project development
- Background in distributed generation and/or C&I solar and storage preferred
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including project modelling
- Proven ability to manage complex development projects
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accountability
