Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Treasury Technology, the Platform Operations Manager, Treasury Technology is responsible for ensuring the operational stability, release readiness, and technical support of the Treasury Risk System (TRS) environment, including integrations with BancWare/FIS-hosted platforms. This role leads environment management activities—such as ETL processes, data feed integrity, database synchronization, batch processing, and reporting dependencies—to achieve high standards of performance, capacity, and reliability. The incumbent will also provide advisory support and recommendations on future-state systems, platform capabilities, and other finance platforms anticipated in the near future.

The role collaborates with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams to manage change, reduce operational risk, and support ongoing platform enhancements. The role is accountable for maintaining robust operational controls, comprehensive documentation, and compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, while proactively identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Additionally, the role provides technical oversight for reporting and analytics enablement, supporting both cube-based and Power BI solutions through stewardship of SQL/Databricks repositories and Python transformation code.

Responsibilities

TRS Operations & Data Feed Management

  • Lead daily operations across ETL/job streams, transformation logic, and library management.
  • Monitor and control monthly and daily processing cycles, including incident triage, root-cause analysis and service restoration.
  • Manage data feed and platform dependencies across databases, ensuring synchronization and reconciliation from upstream feeds to downstream reporting.
  • Collaborate with DBA and engineering teams to meet performance, capacity, stability, and reliability targets.
  • Develop and maintain operational controls, runbooks, scheduling standards, and escalation paths.

Change, Release & Access Governance

  • Own environment governance, including planning and coordination of vendor releases to minimize business disruption.
  • Establish and enforce release management practices, including impact assessments, validation, approvals, and rollback planning.
  • Implement & maintain version control for databases and cube reports, and ensure controlled folder structures to prevent accidental overwrites.
  • Administer access rights in alignment with security policies and audit requirements.
  • Establish documentation standards for auditability and operational resilience.

Reporting & Analytics Enablement

  • Provide technical oversight for cube-based reporting and analytics, supporting ALM/ALCO risk reporting. (e.g. NII/EVE sensitivities and DV01/CS01 reporting)
  • Support report development using cube functionality, scenario comparisons, and custom metric calculations.
  • Ensure reporting solutions use dynamic filtering and outputs are consistent across environments (DEV/UAT/PROD).

Data Repository Support

  • Support SQL/Databricks data repositories, including operational monitoring and data availability controls.
  • Maintain and enhance Python code for Power BI data preparation, ensuring performance and data quality.
  • Partner with data engineering and reporting teams for consistent, well-governed datasets and clear data lineage.

Regulatory Change & Reporting

  • Lead and coordinate IT system changes to meet CDIC deposit-taking regulatory requirements with parent entities.
  • Manage updates to the CDIC Fast Insurance Determination (FID) process and support internal testing and validation.
  • Lead insourcing of XML generation for regulatory filings, ensuring OSFI requirements are met within TRS or approved systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors on implementing OSFI-driven changes to LCR/NCCF and associated XML outputs.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for business owners, vendors, IT teams, and engineering resources.
  • Translate business requirements into operational plans and technical change requests with clear ownership and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). CFA designation (or in progress) is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, environment management, or application support within financial services or enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting data-intensive platforms (SQL, XLCubed, Databricks) required.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Power Automate, Power BI, Powershell and XML.
  • Experience with FIS BDI and FBSM/BancWare platforms highly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data architecture, and system integration.
  • Operational mindset focused on reliability, controls, and disciplined change management.
  • Ability to provide advisory support and recommendations on future-state systems, platform capabilities and other finance platforms.
