What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

The Senior Manager- Campus Talent Acquisition will work directly with the Director, Talent Acquisition to drive continuous improvement in recruitment operations and lead the rollout of innovative Campus initiatives that will position CIBC as an Employer of Choice. It is a pivotal position focused on partnering with internal and external stakeholders to continue to elevate CIBC’s Campus recruitment strategies.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

Who You Are

  • Leadership and Management – Develop a strategy and plan to help CIBC meet their recruitment goal of attracting the best and brightest students, with a focus on Diversity & Inclusion. Manage a team of Talent Acquisition Partners in order to provide day to day direction, identify operational challenges and to continue to build on an effective business support model. Coach and mentor the Talent Acquisition Partners to be a proactive, forward thinking and high performing function which anticipates and prepares for business requirements.
  • Planning and Integration – Oversight on all Campus hiring, external engagement, pre boarding process and orientations for hires. Growth of CIBC’s Campus Ambassador program and social media presence in partnership with key internal stakeholders. Own the assessment on enterprise wide sponsorship opportunities and external partnerships, and provide input and direction into the campus budget.
  • Relationship Building – Build relationships with colleges/universities (campus/co-op coordinators and relationship managers), internal HR consultants, Directors, and Senior Directors.

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years of progressive experience including but not limited to HR and/or Campus Recruitment.

Recruiting:

  • Plan and conduct recruiting events effectively, ensuring smooth execution and high engagement.
  • Increase candidate engagement and process efficiency through the application of gamification and other innovative tools
  • Strong track record of leading high quality recruitment for junior to intermediate professional positions within a high volume recruitment environment
  • Lead recruiting process, including partnering with vendor partners for assessments and closing efforts, to ensure a high offer/accept ratio.
  • Develop and execute presentations and participate in campus interviews
  • Collaborate with Training and Placement officers (TPOs).
  • Equip yourself with deep understanding of recruiting technologies utilized for campus activities.
  • Assist/Lead periodic meetings with various stakeholders, including recurring Recruiter calls, Hiring Manager and Business Champion calls.
  • Run events, create reports and analyze the effectiveness of the events.
  • Handle data reporting/auditing and ensure data integrity, compliance and accuracy across recruiting systems

Managing Relationships and People Management:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for campus, candidates, onboarding, HRBP, Learning and Development, Business leaders throughout the campus recruiting.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal and external partners to execute campus recruitment responsibilities and respond to routine inquiries from external applicants and colleges.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with all other teams to strategize around onboarding, training, communication, compliance and reporting.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Strengthen our brand positioning within the campus hiring landscape.
  • Devise a go-to-campus strategy to effectively engage with target schools,
  • Identify opportunities to partner with business and/or academia for strategic interventions.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple types of campus recruitment (e.g., Business, Engineering).

Experience: 10+ years of experience.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

Must Have Skills:

  • Masters in HR or an equivalent degree.
  • 10+ years of Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Ability to Interpret internal data and marketplace insights.
  • Deep understanding of the campus hiring landscape, market, current trends and recruiting tools and technologies.
  • Experience in recognizing opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical ability, communication, problem-solving skills.
  • Good storyboarding and presentation skills.
