JOB PURPOSE:

The Performance QE is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of quality engineering, performance engineering and software testing for assigned projects or initiatives. This role ensures the development, execution, and continuous improvement of performance test strategies, plans, automation, and quality standards to support the delivery of high-quality technology solutions. The incumbent adds value by providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in performance testing processes and methodologies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Testing Coordination & Execution:

  • Develop, publish, and execute performance test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, virtualization, status reports, defect and exit reports.
  • Identify and obtain required test data and test environments.
  • Develop, publish, and execute testing estimates and manage financials related to testing activities.
  • Track and report performance metrics and KPIs such as response times, throughput, resource utilization (CPU / RAM) etc.

Defect & Compliance Management:

  • Manage defects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Identify, manage, and implement remediation for any noncompliance items and deviations.
  • Ensure adherence to Performance standards and support the implementation of new standards.
  • Recognize and identify areas for process, policy, or tool improvement.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide input, feedback, and challenge to technical designs and assess impacts to testing.
  • Identify and implement automation, AI, or other emerging solutions to expedite testing and improve quality.
  • Lead the adoption of automation frameworks and tools.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Collaborates with project managers, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to coordinate testing activities and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Works closely with development teams to provide feedback on technical designs and assess testing impacts.
  • Interacts with external vendors and tool providers to evaluate and integrate testing solutions.
  • Partners with other QA/QE professionals across the organization to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

  • Responsible for the delivery of performance testing services for assigned projects / initiatives, supporting retail banking, mobile, web-based, UX, API, and accessibility testing.
  • Provides technical and process leadership to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supports achievement of business unit goals through effective quality engineering and testing practices.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Retail banking, mobile testing, web-based testing, UX testing, API testing, API / Webservices REST and SOAP, DB SQL/non-SQL.

Must have skills:

  • 3+ years of Performance testing for (Web, API, JBoss) applications, along with understanding of system performance and capacity.
  • Neo Load scripting, JMeter scripting.
  • Expert in JAVA, Python, VBScript. Proficiency in web services and API testing.
  • Expert in Neo Load, JMeter, GitHub.
  • Database testing -SQL knowledge, cloud base databases (data Bricks, etc.) Data Migration and ETL testing.
  • Open Shift experience: capacity / calibration and tools (Kaili, Grafana).

Nice to have

  • Significant exposure on Performance testing on large-scale high-volume applications.
  • Advanced Performance Engineering: hands-on in performance testing, tuning, and optimization across enterprise-scale applications specially cloud based apps.
  • Programming language skills with a strong preference for web-based programming (OLB QA), mobile programming (mobile QA), and API programming (API QA).
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure, GitHub-Action).
  • Containerized and microservices architectures (Docker, Kubernetes).
