Job Description
The Banking Associate role is a versatile position responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, supporting sales and service solutions, and performing teller operations. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships by effectively communicating the benefits of Atlantic Union Bank products and services.
Position Accountabilities:
- Create customer loyalty by engaging in needs-based conversations to deliver a personalized banking experience
- Maintain strong knowledge of bank products and services across all business lines and stay updated on new offerings
- Demonstrate proficiency in digital banking platforms including Zoom, Appointment Scheduler, DocuSign, GRO, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, and ATM services
- Drive proactive sales conversations through outbound calls, service-to-sales interactions, teller engagement, and appointment setting
- Acquire new customers through prospecting while strengthening and expanding existing relationships
- Identify and close sales opportunities to meet individual and branch goals
- Support branch growth through customer acquisition and retention efforts
- Partner with Mortgage, Investments, Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Merchant Services, and Treasury Management teams
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate lending and financial solutions
- Assist customers in resolving inquiries related to deposits, loans, and other banking services
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust activities to achieve sales targets
- Perform teller duties including cash handling and transaction processing
- Balance cash drawers daily and ensure accuracy of transactions
- Follow all banking regulations and policies including BSA/AML requirements
- Manage risk by adhering to policies and exercising sound judgment
- Complete complex branch operational duties as assigned
- Complete all required training programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Organizational Relationship:
This position reports to the designated Branch Manager or Branch Leader.
Education and Experience:
- NMLS registration required or ability to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in banking or financial services preferred
- Minimum 1 year of customer relationship building and sales experience preferred
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Teller experience strongly preferred
- Customer service experience required
- Lending experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong business judgment and decision-making ability
- Proficiency with computers and digital banking tools
- Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Work schedules may vary based on business needs. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds is required.
Salary will be based on education, experience, and certifications. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation or discretionary profit-sharing bonuses.
