Customer Banking Advisor

Job Description: The Customer Banking Advisor role is an all encompassing position responsible for delivering a best in class customer experience, providing sales and service solutions, and handling teller transactions. This role builds strong customer relationships by clearly communicating the benefits of Atlantic Union Bank products and services.

Position Accountabilities:

  • Encourage customer commitment by initiating meaningful dialogues tailored to address their needs, creating a unique customer interaction
  • Foster and retain comprehensive knowledge of the bank's services and products across all operational sectors
  • Demonstrate proficiency in digital banking tools like Zoom, Appointment Scheduler, DocuSign, GRO, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, and ATM Banking
  • Facilitate proactive sales conversations through internal and external engagements including outbound calls, converting service requests into sales opportunities, and setting appointments
  • Develop new customer relationships through strategic prospecting while strengthening existing connections
  • Identify and close sales opportunities to meet personal and branch sales goals
  • Drive branch growth through customer acquisition and retention strategies
  • Collaborate with Mortgage, Investments, Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Merchant Services, and Treasury Management teams
  • Identify and meet lending and financial product needs
  • Assist customers with deposit, credit, and banking service issues
  • Adjust strategies based on performance scorecard insights to meet sales targets
  • Perform teller duties including cash handling and transaction processing
  • Reconcile daily cash balances for accuracy
  • Follow banking regulations including BSA AML policies and procedures
  • Mitigate risk by following procedures and exercising sound judgment
  • Perform complex branch operational tasks as assigned
  • Complete all required training programs
  • Perform other assigned duties as required

Organizational Relationship:

Reports to the designated branch leader.

Educational and Experiential Requirements:

  • NMLS registration required or ability to obtain
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year banking or financial services experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year sales and customer relationship experience preferred
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Teller experience preferred
  • Strong customer service experience required
  • Lending experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong customer service and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business judgment and decision making ability
  • Proficiency with computers and digital banking systems
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail
  • Adaptability and flexibility in changing environments
