Job Description
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) process, ensuring precision and compliance with company standards. You will lead a remote team, coordinate with legal counsel, and maintain document systems to support contract-related operations.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the CLM process end-to-end, including initiation, creation, negotiation, approval, execution, monitoring, maintenance, and renewal or termination.
- Manage and coordinate a remote contracts team, ensuring quality control and timely contract processing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contracts, guiding requesters and keeping them informed throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Conduct preliminary reviews of contracts to ensure compliance and identify issues needing escalated legal review.
- Coordinate with legal counsel, routing contracts based on type and complexity, and manage the review cycle through resolution.
- Manage the Delegation of Authority (DOA) approval workflow, ensuring timely sign-off.
- Execute and manage agreements using Ironclad, preparing documents for signature and confirming full execution.
- Maintain and track document filing systems according to company conventions.
- Monitor contract expirations and proactively manage renewals, amendments, or terminations.
- Maintain and improve CLM SOPs by identifying and proposing updates.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Support adjacent operations functions related to procurement and controllership workflows.
- Engage in other duties as assigned by leadership.
Essential Skills
- 3–6+ years of experience in contracts management, legal operations, or compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with contract lifecycle management.
- Comfort with legal terminology and concepts.
- Experience managing or coordinating remote teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management platforms, preferably Ironclad.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with procurement procedures and invoicing workflows.
- Experience in accounting, controllership, or compliance functions.
- Self-directed and problem-solving mindset.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position, with standard working hours from 8am to 5pm EST. Full-time candidates are preferred, but candidates available for 30 hours per week will also be considered. There is an opportunity to build and refine processes in a newer CLM implementation, providing high impact and ownership over workflow development.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $53.00/hr.
