Job Description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Automotive & Equipment Service Technician to support our clients’ New Product Introduction (NPI) operations. Reporting to the NPI Coordinator, this safety‑focused, self‑directed professional will provide hands‑on maintenance and repair support for light‑duty fleet vehicles and field equipment in remote operating environments.

This FIFO role is ideal for a skilled Journeyman Technician who thrives working independently, values safety excellence, and brings strong accountability to fleet and equipment reliability while collaborating effectively with site teams, safety leadership, and contracted resources.

  • Location: Christina Lake, AB (Flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton)
  • Shift: 7 days on / 7 days off (Wednesday to Wednesday)

Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine and non‑routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on client fleet and field equipment, including:
  • Pickup trucks
  • Light towers
  • Generators
  • ATVs and UTVs
  • Miscellaneous mobile and stationary support equipment
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic faults
  • Diagnose issues and repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and OEM diagnostic platforms
  • Complete post‑repair testing to ensure equipment meets manufacturer and client safety specifications

Planning, Coordination & Documentation

  • Execute assigned work in alignment with direction from the NPI Coordinator and site priorities
  • Accurately complete work orders, maintenance logs, and fleet records
  • Order parts and receive materials as needed to support maintenance activities
  • Provide technical guidance, oversight, and quality assurance for contracted labour when required
  • Collaborate closely with the Fleet Coordinator, Safety Leads, and site teams to ensure job plans reflect operational and safety requirements

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Plan and perform all work in strict accordance with client safety policies, including the STOP‑THINK‑PLAN program
  • Actively participate in hazard identification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Report incidents, near misses, and hazards in accordance with client protocols
  • Support corrective and preventative action follow‑up
  • Maintain professionalism and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and cooperative work environment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Journeyman experience as an Automotive Service Technician or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement
  • Current H2S Alive and Standard First Aid certifications
  • Experience with Ford and Kubota equipment
  • Prior experience in oil & gas, mining, or remote industrial environments
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision in a remote FIFO environment
  • Advanced vehicle diagnostics using OEM diagnostic platforms
  • Proven troubleshooting and repair experience in:
  • Electrical systems
  • Electronic control systems
  • Hydraulic systems
  • A/C systems
  • Strong proficiency with diagnostic tools, service documentation, and maintenance processes
  • Experience servicing mixed light‑duty and industrial equipment fleets
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
