How to Upload Your Resume to LinkedIn

LinkedIn has three different surfaces that accept a resume - Profile (Featured section), Easy Apply, and Settings - and they do different things. Picking the wrong one means your file is uploaded but doesn't get you the visibility (or the application) you wanted. What this tool isn't

Honest limitations

  • LinkedIn's UI changes occasionally. If a step's exact label has shifted, the underlying flow is the same.
  • We can't push a file to LinkedIn for you - this tool gives you the path; you do the upload.

FAQ

Common questions

PDF or DOCX?

PDF. LinkedIn's preview renders DOCX inconsistently and may strip formatting. PDF preserves how a recruiter will see it.

Will recruiters see my resume if I upload it in Settings?

No. Settings uploads are private to your account and only get attached when YOU click Easy Apply. For passive recruiter visibility you need Featured.

How many resumes can I store on LinkedIn?

Up to 4 saved resumes in Easy Apply / Settings. Older uploads roll off as you add new ones. Featured has no formal limit but use one.
