Spectrum Resource Group The Position: Project Manager- Environmental Scientist/ Biologist Type: Regular Reports To: Regional Manager- Environmental Although posted in multiple locations, we are only hiring for one position. We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada. Annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $105,000, in addition to bonus eligibility based on a combination of company profitability and individual performance. Employee Ownership potential. Key Responsibilities: Interpret and implement federal, provincial, and municipal permits and approvals. Support environmental permitting and compliance related to fish and fish habitat, wetlands, watercourses, wildlife, and Species at Risk. Conduct and oversee environmental inspections and construction environmental monitoring (CEM/EM). Provide on‑site environmental support during clearing, grading, in‑water works, and vegetation management. Prepare and review regulatory‑focused deliverables, including: Aquatics and fisheries assessments Wildlife surveys and reporting Wetland delineation and impact assessments EPPs, ECO Plans, CEMPs, and compliance documentation Support environmental sampling programs (soil, water, sediment, waste) and associated reporting. Participate in spill response, incident reporting, and regulatory follow‑up. Liaise with regulators, Indigenous communities, and internal project teams. Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal procedures and compliance best practices. Other duties as required. Experience and Knowledge Expectations: 6–10 years of environmental consulting or applied environmental experience with a regulatory focus. Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or related field. Appropriate professional designations in good standing, for ex. RPBio (BC), P.Biol. (AB). Experience applying legislation such as the Fisheries Act, Water Act, Wildlife Act, Public Lands Act, SARA, MBCA. Practical experience in aquatics, wildlife, and/or wetland assessment and reporting. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Time management, accountability, and ability to control conflicting priorities. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work.
