This role is crucial for driving the creation and optimization of new food products, from concept generation to commercialization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, processing technologies, and sensory evaluation. You will be responsible for leading research and development projects, formulating new products, troubleshooting existing formulations, and ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. Performing sensory evaluations and analyzing consumer feedback to guide product improvements. Troubleshooting product quality issues and implementing effective solutions. Ensuring all product development activities comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and nutritional guidelines. Collaborating closely with R&D, marketing, operations, and quality assurance teams. Staying abreast of industry innovations, emerging technologies, and competitor activities. Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders. Mentoring junior scientists and contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Managing project timelines and budgets effectively. Qualifications:Master's degree or PhD in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in food product development and R&D within the food industry. Extensive knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient interactions, and food processing techniques. Proven experience in formulation development, sensory science, and analytical techniques. Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality assurance principles. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong project management abilities and experience leading R&D projects. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fully remote work environment. Proficiency in relevant software and laboratory equipment.
