Energy Analyst (Power Systems)

Our client, a leading player in the energy sector, is seeking a highly analytical and skilled Energy Analyst specializing in Power Systems for their operations in **Surat, Gujarat, IN**. This role involves in-depth analysis of energy markets, power generation, transmission, and distribution networks to provide strategic insights and recommendations. You will play a vital role in optimizing energy usage, forecasting demand, and evaluating the economic and technical feasibility of new energy projects, particularly focusing on renewable integration and grid modernization. The successful candidate will be adept at using sophisticated modeling tools and possess a strong understanding of energy policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and maintaining complex power system models to simulate grid operations, load flow, and stability. Analyzing energy market data, including pricing, supply, demand, and regulatory changes. Forecasting future energy demand and supply scenarios for regional and national markets. Evaluating the technical and economic performance of existing and proposed power generation facilities. Assessing the impact of renewable energy sources on grid stability and reliability. Conducting feasibility studies for energy infrastructure projects and investments. Preparing detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders. Staying abreast of technological advancements and policy developments in the energy industry. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and operations. Ensuring compliance with all relevant energy regulations and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy market analysis, power system planning, or consulting is required. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Excel) is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are a must. Familiarity with Indian energy markets and regulatory frameworks is highly advantageous.
