Remote Senior Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for key product areas, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. Implement and refine agile methodologies to optimize team productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and technical specifications. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively. Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges proactively. Champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support career development for team members. Foster a strong sense of ownership and accountability within the engineering team. Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure scalability, reliability, and security of our software systems. Actively participate in hiring and onboarding new engineering talent.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a management or team lead role. Proven experience managing and scaling software engineering teams. Strong technical expertise in one or more relevant programming languages and technologies (e.g., Java, Python, C++, Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate remote teams. Experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native development. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality software. Experience with performance management and career development frameworks. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Comfortable working in a fully remote setting.
