Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their progressive IT department in Vancouver, British Columbia, CA . This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's robust network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software, with hands-on experience in enterprise-level network management. You will be responsible for configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks. This position involves planning and executing network upgrades, migrations, and expansions to support business growth and evolving technological demands. You will also play a key role in network security initiatives, including intrusion detection, prevention, and vulnerability management. The Network Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of network services. Excellent problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach to identifying potential issues, and strong documentation skills are essential. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a commitment to continuous learning in the ever-changing field of network engineering. Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Develop and implement network security policies and procedures. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Plan and execute network upgrades and hardware/software refreshes. Manage VPN connections and ensure secure remote access. Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and integrations. Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventories. Provide support for network-related incidents and requests. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management. Proficiency with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba). Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles. Experience with network monitoring tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow). Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
