Pharmacy Assistant

Role and Responsibilities of Pharmacy Assistant:
You will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care while engaging with patients and guiding pharmacy staff. You will manage prescriptions, counsel patients, and support immunization and wellness programs, all while ensuring regulatory compliance and exemplary customer service.
- Process and accurately dispense prescription orders to customers.
- Counsel patients on healthcare needs, medication use, and wellness programs.
- Administer immunizations and participate in company-developed health initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to pharmacy staff on proper customer service practices.
Required Skills and Experience of Pharmacy Assistant:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, PharmD, or equivalent FPGE (NABP).
- Active pharmacy license by job entry date.
- Completion of an ACPE Accredited Immunization training program (e.g., APhA, Pharmacy School Curriculum, or State Pharmacy Association sponsored).
- Proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices.
- Ability to build strong relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Adaptability to address a variety of patient healthcare needs.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community pharmacy or retail pharmacy settings.

Compensation and Benefits of Pharmacy Assistant:
- Annual salary range of $98,000 to $172,000 based on a 40-hour workweek, with prorated adjustments for different scheduled hours.
