Job Description

An Environmental Manager in mining ensures operational compliance with environmental regulations, statutory approvals (EC, FC, CTO), and sustainability goals. Key duties include managing waste, water, air quality, land reclamation, and liaising with regulatory bodies to mitigate risks and ensure sustainable, eco-friendly mining operations. [1, 2]

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with statutory bodies (MoEF&CC, SPCB, CGWA) to secure and maintain Environmental Clearances (EC), Forest Clearances (FC), and Consent to Operate (CTO).
Environmental Management Plan (EMP) Implementation: Oversee air/water quality monitoring, noise control, tailings management, waste disposal, and land reclamation/rehabilitation.
Sustainability & Audits: Drive ESG initiatives, including greenbelt development, carbon footprint reduction, and conducting internal/external environmental audits.
Risk Management & Reporting: Identify environmental risks, implement corrective actions, and submit timely compliance reports to regulatory authorities.
Project Support: Provide environmental inputs for mine planning, expansion projects, and EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) studies. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: B.E./M.E. in Environmental Science/Engineering, M.Sc. in Environmental Science, or related field.
