Role and Responsibilities of Auto Mechanic:
You'll be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of UPS’s fleet, which includes a wide range of vehicles. The role involves diagnosing and maintaining various vehicle systems, such as hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine components.
- Adhere to all D.O.T. regulations during vehicle maintenance.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, climbing, and using ladders.
- Operate standard and manual vehicles with proficiency.
- Utilize power and pneumatic tools to service and repair vehicle systems.
Required Skills and Experience of Auto Mechanic:
- A valid driver’s license issued by the state.
- Availability for flexible shift schedules, such as Monday to Friday or Sunday to Thursday.
- Own the necessary hand tools for completing job requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with automotive mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computer systems.
- Class A/B CDL is preferred but not required.
- Reliable and punctual, with a solid work ethic.
- Availability to work overtime and varying shifts as needed.
