Associate Software Engineer – Backend

About the Role

Mygate is looking for a highly motivated Associate Software Engineer to join our Backend Engineering team. We are seeking technically strong candidates with hands-on experience in building scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of backend development fundamentals, microservices architecture, and RESTful API development, along with a passion for solving complex engineering problems in a fast-paced product environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and services.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of backend systems.
• Work closely with senior engineers to deliver robust and scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Good experience in designing and developing REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience working with Microservices Architecture.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and database concepts.
• Experience with SQL databases and version control systems such as Git.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on scalable web applications or product-based environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
