Job Description

As a Category Manager, Indirect Materials & Services at Tennant Company, a global leader in professional cleaning equipment and solutions, your role is crucial in managing regional category strategies in alignment with global objectives. You will be responsible for delivering savings, value creation, and risk mitigation to support business growth in an international environment.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Identify, select, and qualify new suppliers while optimizing the existing supplier portfolio
  • Conduct ongoing procurement market analyses and monitor relevant indices
  • Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction measures
  • Participate in cross-departmental purchasing projects at the European level and contribute to the development of international activities
  • Execute regional category spend and deliver financial targets (savings, rebates, payment terms, etc.), value creation, and risk-mitigation targets with full accountability
  • Analyze and manage supplier data to support the identification and qualification of new suppliers aligned with the global strategy, assisting in their onboarding process and ensuring compliance with legal, quality, and technical requirements
  • Execute strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives, including supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, risk mitigation, and performance optimization
  • Identify value creation opportunities through alternative raw materials, new technologies, or process improvements
  • *Qualifications Required:**
  • Academic degree in a relevant field (business and/or engineering)
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in strategic purchasing
  • Excellent German and English language skills
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially MS Excel
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • High level of initiative and proactive working style
  • Solution-oriented approach and sense of responsibility
  • Occasional travel required for trade fairs and supplier visits
