Ophthalmic/Medical Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology practice. You will assist ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while delivering high-quality service to our patients.

Duties

• Perform preliminary eye exams and gather patient history, including medical terminology relevant to eye care.
• Assist with diagnostic testing, including visual field tests, tonometry, retinal imaging, and corneal topography.
• Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) accurately using systems such as Accuro.
• Provide exceptional patient care by addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
• Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems, particularly Accuro, is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a medical office setting or front desk operations is beneficial.
• Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail.
