Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatry / Mental Health
Location: Quesnel, British Columbia
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care within a Psychiatry/Mental Health setting. The successful candidate will support individuals experiencing mental health challenges through assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and recovery-focused care while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Contract Details
Assignment Dates: July 1, 2026 – September 1, 2026
Hours: Full-Time, 80 Hours Bi-Weekly
Shifts: 12-Hour Rotational Shifts (Days, Nights, Weekends, and Statutory Holidays as per facility requirements)
Pay Rate: CAD $48–$57/hour

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments and provide therapeutic nursing care in accordance with established care plans.
- Administer medications, monitor treatment effectiveness, and assess for adverse reactions.
- Support patients experiencing psychiatric, behavioral, and emotional health concerns.
- Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation, intervention, and safety management techniques.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support discharge and recovery planning.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented environment while adhering to infection control and safety standards.
Qualifications
✔ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent recognized RN education
✔ Current practicing registration with BCCNM in good standing
✔ Current BLS Certification
✔ Recent Psychiatry, Mental Health, or Behavioral Health nursing experience preferred
✔ Strong assessment, communication, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation skills
✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment
