Media & Communications Associate

Location:

Edmonton, AB

Travel Requirements:

Hybrid with regular travel throughout Canada and occasional international travel will be required to support conferences, events, media opportunities, and special initiatives.

Base Salary:

$60,000 - $70,000 CAD (dependent on experience)

What you will achieve in this role:

  • Support the execution of communications, media, and branding initiatives across multiple business and philanthropic platforms
  • Coordinate speaking engagements, podcast appearances, media opportunities, and special events while ensuring a seamless experience
  • Capture, edit, and manage photography, video, and digital content for social media and marketing channels
  • Assist with the development of presentations, communications materials, and content strategies that enhance brand visibility
  • Work closely with leadership to support ongoing projects, communications, and day-to-day priorities
  • Manage content calendars and contribute ideas that strengthen engagement and audience growth across digital platforms
  • Coordinate external vendors, creative partners, and service providers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Support website updates, email campaigns, and digital marketing initiatives while monitoring engagement and campaign performance
  • Maintain organized digital assets, content libraries, and project documentation
  • Assist with conferences, travel arrangements, events, and other high-profile initiatives as required
  • Contribute to communications and storytelling efforts tied to charitable and community impact programs

What you must bring to this role:

  • 2+ years of experience within communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, content creation, or related environments
  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Experience creating digital content including photography, videography, and social media assets
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Acrobat, or comparable editing tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to interact with executives, external partners, and stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and projects within a fast-moving environment
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Professional, polished, and service-oriented approach with the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Experience supporting executives, founders, or public-facing professionals is considered a strong asset
  • Familiarity with podcast production, event coordination, and social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube is preferred
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to travel as required
