Senior Product Security Engineer (Remote)

As a Product Security Software Engineer at Red Hat Product Security, your role will be to contribute to the automation of compliance and security activities in order to scale them by 10X. You will work towards strategic integration of tools and processes to enable security and compliance activities at scale, allowing multiple people to perform tasks that previously required a larger workforce. Here is an overview of your responsibilities and qualifications required for this position:

• *Role Overview:**

You will collaborate with engineering product teams, compliance teams, and managed service teams to automate evidence collection and remediation for compliance standards necessary for the certification of Red Hat managed services. Additionally, you will partner with open source communities and utilize open source tools to achieve these objectives. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and maintaining security and compliance automation solutions using Python or Go, taking projects from ideation through validation. Applying design thinking practices, you will architect user-centric technical solutions to ensure that security and compliance tools are intuitive for adoption. You will take ownership of software at the component level, resolving security issues that cross boundaries and contributing directly to upstream projects to enhance the ecosystem.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and experience in using or building compliance tooling
• Strong experience with Linux, modern container technologies such as Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines
• Background or strong interest in product security, including knowledge of building secure-by-design software
• Desire to expand contributions or influence within the open-source community
• Ability to articulate technical information clearly and build connections both within and outside your immediate team
