Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Toronto, ON for an onsite full-time role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing database systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain database systems and servers.

Monitor database performance and perform tuning and optimization.

Ensure data integrity, security, and backup/recovery processes.

Manage database upgrades, patches, and migrations.

Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.

Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support application requirements.

Maintain documentation for database architecture and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in database administration.

Expertise in databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning.

Familiarity with SQL scripting and database security practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL).

Knowledge of automation and monitoring tools.

Experience working in Agile or enterprise IT environments.
