Duties
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions using Azure and other leading cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and Rackspace.
- Implement automation and configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and PowerShell to streamline deployment processes.
- Manage virtualization environments utilizing VMware, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, and Citrix to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
- Develop and maintain APIs and web services using RESTful principles with languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and .NET.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams employing Agile methodologies to ensure continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and other DevOps tools.
- Conduct system hardening and security assessments to safeguard cloud infrastructure against vulnerabilities through system updates, firewalls like Meraki, VPN configurations, and best practices in system management.
- Support database administration tasks involving MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB for data integrity and performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cloud architecture design leveraging Azure services along with familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), and microservices development.
- Hands-on knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware, OpenStack, Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration, and Citrix solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Go or Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef or Puppet for system provisioning and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server and various Linux distributions; knowledge of system hardening techniques is a plus.
- Strong grasp of web services protocols including RESTful APIs; experience with API development for IoT applications is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively within an Agile environment employing SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) principles for software development and deployment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive mindset to troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure or application deployment.
