On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a SQL Server Developer, Data Solutions for a 4-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3-4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

SQL Server Developer, Data Solutions - Job Description:

The project involves supporting the ABAC (Anti-bribery anti-corruption) and data ingestion changes for the Third Party Data & Insights initiative. The focus will be on automating data ingestion processes to provide data for reporting purposes, offering line of sight on spend, purchasing, vendors, suppliers, and services. The initial phase will concentrate on on-prem solutions with SQL Server, with cloud integration planned for later.

SQL Server Developer, Data Solutions - Responsibilities:

• Implement data ingestion pipelines/DevOps on-prem using SQL Server/SSIS/ETL
• Lead data initiatives from intake, requirements, and estimations to solution design, development, and testing
• Develop SQL queries/ETL packages using T-SQL and SSIS, and Python for data integration
• Develop Power Apps/Power Automate/SharePoint solutions to capture user information
• Provide transition support to Operations for sustained process effectiveness
• Support design and development of dashboards/reports using Power BI, SSRS, Excel/PowerPivot, and Tableau
• Document databases and data process flows, maintaining data dictionaries
• Troubleshoot and resolve database/application defects promptly
• Coordinate code deployments and production implementations

SQL Server Developer, Data Solutions - Mandatory Skills:

• 10 years of relevant working experience as a developer
• 5+ years’ experience as a SQL Server Developer (SQL Server, TSQL, ETL/SSIS)
• 5+ years’ experience with database design and data warehousing
• Ability to work independently and serve as a tech lead
• Strong focus on delivering quality results
• Communication skills – 6/10 is acceptable
• Experience with data integration projects involving REST API

SQL Server Developer, Data Solutions – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Data solutions on Azure (Databricks, Synapse/ADF) or GCP
• Experience with implementing DevOps/MS Azure Cloud services
• Experience with web development (.NET/SharePoint/Power Apps/Power Platform)
• Experience from the banking sector
• Certifications in Databricks, SQL, SQL Server

SQL Server Developer, Data Solutions – Assignment Length:

This is a 4-month contract position with the possibility of extension and conversion to full-time employment.
