The Role
This isn't just a tutoring gig; it’s an opportunity to provide unparalleled academic guidance. We want an educator who doesn't just teach formulas but inspires a genuine fascination with how the world works.
In this role, you will support a wide spectrum of learners—from Grade 3 students building their first scientific mental models to Grade 11 & 12 students navigating the rigors of the Ontario Physics curriculum (SPH3U/SPH4U) and university-level preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Elite Instruction: Deliver high-impact, 1-on-1 lessons that bridge the gap between basic physical principles and complex mathematical applications.
- Grade-Appropriate Mentorship: Adapt complex concepts for younger learners (Grades 3-8) to foster early interest in STEM, while providing deep technical expertise for secondary students (Grades 9-12).
- Adaptive Lesson Design: Evaluate individual learning gaps and curate bespoke resources that move beyond the limitations of a standard textbook.
- Digital Engagement: Facilitate interactive, virtual sessions using modern tools (Zoom, digital whiteboards, simulations) to keep students engaged remotely.
- Strategic Growth Tracking: Monitor student performance milestones and provide actionable feedback to ensure "meteoric" academic progress.
Who You Are
- Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related STEM field is required.
- Versatile Experience: Proven experience teaching or tutoring science/physics. Candidates must be comfortable working with students from Grade 3 through Grade 12.
- Content Creation: Demonstrated ability to build comprehensive, original lesson plans and practice materials that align with the Ontario Curriculum.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and inspire confidence in students of all learning styles.
- Availability: Must be flexible to meet student needs (evenings and/or weekends are often required).
